Classes & Schedule

What We Train

Seven ways to train, one timetable. Most members train two or three times a week and mix gi, no-gi and striking depending on what their week allows. Complete beginners usually start at Saturday fundamentals.

Programmes

The Classes

BJJ (Gi)

Complete beginners through to experienced grapplers.

Warm-up and movement, a position of the week, drilling with a partner, then live rounds, all in the traditional uniform.

Everyone trains in the same class. Beginners get a scaled version of the round and a partner who knows what they are doing. Nothing is mandatory on your first night — you can drill and sit the rolling out.

No-Gi Grappling

Anyone who wants the faster, grip-free version of the same game.

Shorts and a rashguard, no gi grips. Wrestling, guard passing and submissions at a quicker pace.

Runs on Tuesday and Thursday, morning and evening. Most members train both gi and no-gi; you do not have to choose one.

Striking

Anyone wanting striking skill and conditioning without contact pressure.

Footwork, stance, pad rounds and bagwork. Technical and hard on the lungs.

Sparring is optional and controlled. Plenty of members use this purely as their conditioning session alongside jiu-jitsu.

BJJ / No-Gi Fundamentals

Complete beginners. This is the easiest place to start.

Saturday 09:30. One position taught slowly from the ground up, with drilling and light, optional rounds.

If you have never trained before, come to this class first. Everything is explained from scratch, the pace is calm, and you will not be the only new person in the room.

Kids Class

Ages 6 to 12.

Kids BJJ page

Games-based warm-ups, one clear technique per class, supervised positional work.

Structure, respect and skills that hold up. Parents are welcome to watch from the side.

Open Mat

Members at any level who want rounds without instruction.

Friday mornings and evenings, and Saturday late morning. Roll, drill, or work on one thing.

Coaches are usually on the mat and happy to answer questions, but nothing is taught formally. New members are welcome to come and watch.

Private Coaching

Members who want focused time — new starters, competitors, or people fixing one problem.

One-on-one or small group, booked directly with a coach, in addition to an active membership.

An hour of private coaching early on can save months. From R550 per session, with five and ten session packages available.
